IPS vs Shoot & Share — Day 25 of #30daysFP

Today’s topic is basically about methods of selling. IPS stands for In Person Sales and people who prefer this method typically make more money. This is because there is a normal sessions fee (which ranges from a couple hundred to a $1000+ and comes with no images) then there is a follow-up consultation where the clients can pick the images they links and put them in a print package (obviously, it depends on the clients but average sales can range from $1000 — $10,000).

That’s a lot of moolah and majority of the time you would never get the digital copies. There’s a lot of phycology that goes in to this and it’s quick fascinating.

A Shoot and Share photographer whose sessions fee usually include the digitals images. This type of photographer will encourage the client to print images they like and also share them across the social networks hoping to gain their next client or a large following.

Quick Note: This is a part of a 30 days series covering a variety of topics. Check out the Series Collection Post to see all the topics in one place.
